Do you love eating delicious, healthy meals but don’t have the time to cook? Or perhaps you’re an amateur home chef who’s eager to share your talents with a wider audience? Good news! Mealtimes are about to get a whole lot tastier.
Following in the famously disruptive footsteps of digital phenomena like Uber and Airbnb, comes FLAVR, a brand-new Belgian startup that could become the most popular food delivery platform, without cooking a single meal! This peer-to-peer online platform for buying and selling meals aims to connect food lovers—both those who love cooking and those who love enjoying delicious meals—so they can share their mutual passion. Not only will FLAVR connect you with professional chefs who want to earn something extra, but also with amateur chefs and cooking enthusiasts who will now be able to sell their meals online, sharing their home cooking skills with the world and building their own personal brand.
Founders “made in Accenture”
Winner of the 2015 Accenture Innovation Challenge, FLAVR is the brainchild of three Accenture colleagues in Belgium. Until recently Alexander, Moos, and Oliver were full-time management consultants, but winning the Challenge offered them a unique opportunity to take three months out from their jobs and join Accenture’s Innovation Delivery Accelerator program (AIDA), where they were supported to give their concept a real chance of becoming a fully-fledged business. Previously mentors at the digital innovation incubator Start it@KBC in Antwerp, the current location of their HQ, they were joined by fourth co-founder, Pere, an experienced developer and technology architect, and FLAVR is now poised to disrupt the food delivery market as we know it.
Walking the innovation talk
FLAVR is the most recent successful startup to emerge from Accenture’s internal Innovation Challenge in Belgium & Luxembourg. Previous laureates include Geniefacts, a user-friendly solution for data monetization. Each year, this Challenge inspires our employees to think boldly and innovatively and then supports them to make their most promising ideas happen. It is the internal translation of Accenture’s Digital 2020 ambition: building bridges between startups, corporates, academia, citizens and government to catalyze new digital products and services that contribute to the growth of the local economy.
